Citrus and Small Crop Farm
This hobby / commercial farm is ideal for those looking to live in a quite rural lifestyle with the ability to earn income from the land. The land was purchased by the owners in 1984 and since then they have developed this 6.808 ha or 16.8 acres of rich black alluvial soil into a good producing citrus and small crop farm.
The residence is a comfortable 3-bedroom, one bathroom home. Water is obtained from two 22,500 litre rainwater tanks with a smaller shed tank available for farm related uses. Good Telstra mobile phone reception and internet is available. The three-bay farm shed has power connected and accommodates personal vehicles and farm machinery.
Today the farm consists of – 125 Tahitian lime trees, 28 Navelena oranges, 70 (Afourer, Hickson, Murcott and Avana ) Mandarins, 90 Eureka lemons , 30 ( Kensington Pride and R2E2) Mangoes, 27 Avocados ( further avocadoes are about to be planted that will bring the total to 50), 2 Pomelos, 6 bananas and 5 passionfruit vines. The owners also grow or have grown pumpkins, cherry tomatoes, gourmet tomatoes, cape gooseberries, fig, cumquat, Lebanese cucumber and desert limes.
There are two dams on the property (one is spring fed) which gives the owners excellent water security. Irrigation is carried out via a pump on the dam, poly pipe laterals and sprinklers to each tree. All citrus trees on the farm are in full production mode while the avocadoes will bear fruit May 2022. There are also 2 igloos where smaller plants can be gown for planting or for sale.
The aspect of the farm is ideal for growing citrus trees giving it protection from the prevailing south east winds.
The sale is being offered on a walk-in, walk-out basis with all plant and machinery included, such as cold room, fruit waxer, fruit brusher/ polisher, tractor and 5-wheel John Deere Gator and more. The owners have established over the year’s excellent markets. Produce is sold to the Brisbane markets at Rocklea, 2 SPAR supermarkets, 3 IGA supermarkets, one hotel and Saturdays Yandina markets.
Because of the owner’s health issues, they have been forced in recent years to scale back the operation however should the new owners wish to increase productions then there is land available to plant say a 100 extra lime and/or lemon trees.
The owners have loved living on the property for all these years and when asked why they have enjoyed living there so much their response was – “the quiet peaceful location, the excellent soil that will grow anything, the aspect and the good neighbours. ”
Eudlo township and railway station with easy connection to Brisbane is only 4 Km or a 7-minute drive away while Palmwoods township is only a 11-minute drive. Coastal beaches such as Mooloolaba beach is an easy 30-minute drive.
This sale represents an excellent opportunity to live in a sub-tropical climate, in a peaceful rural setting with an income. The farm is priced to sell so don’t delay.
